My eyes or your eyes?

Someone asked “Don’t you feel lonely? Why are you not getting married? Again she said “get married and you will be happy”. I simply told her two things – “From where I am standing I can see the ocean of beautiful souls and from where you are standing you are seeing only me standing at the shore of that ocean so who do you think is lonely? My eyes or your eyes? And I will not get married for the sake of being happy but I will get married because I am happy and can spread that happiness in my relationships.  I am not here to change anyone’s opinion about being single or social norms or about me but I am here to change my opinion about my world. Aptly said by Rumi – “Yesterday I was clever so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise so I am changing myself… 🙂
