Aanisha dismissed the video call with Abhishek, she did not know what she was supposed to do, “Was it really easy to see him after 24 years?” She asked to herself. She called him over the phone and without giving any hint about her feelings, yelled at him with a laugh “Sorry! for video chat you need to give a prior notice.” Really! I know you since you don’t even know what makeup meant.” He said with a laugh. She just laughed as if she agrees with his comment but her heart knew the pain of skipping a beat when Abhishek’s video call came. Though she desperately wanted to see him after 24 long years. After all, Abhishek was her first crush and first love.
After chatting with Abhishek for another 5 minutes, she decided to write their story. In next half an hour, she only wrote one sentence – “He was my first love.” She realized that she won’t be able to write anything until she will talk to him. She messaged him, ” Call me when you are free as I am stuck with my story and without talking to you, I cannot write further.” “Ok! I will call you tomorrow,” He messaged her back.
That night was the longest for her, as she will talk to Abhishek for the very first time in 24 years, about his feelings towards her. All she knew that she is a special person in his life, he respects her feelings for him from Day 1 but he never reciprocated and she never asked for it as well. Thinking about next day call, Aanisha slipped into the warm blanket of sleep.
“Good Morning honey! Hope you slept well?” Dev kissed her forehead and asked. Aanisha hugged her husband tightly, she knew the warmth of true love. With a smile, she sat on her writing desk and wrote “There are few stories which are complete when they are left incomplete. My love was and will always be enough to complete this love story.”

Loved the way you ended the story. Love will always find us 😊
Thanks Rajlakshmi… can’t agree more with u
Love does conquer all they say; but I wonder if she is really over the first one and is now consoling herself with the thought of having this present man in her life. She seemed to be having a lot of longing/excitement for the first one…….
First love is first love but no one can beat the true love…. she realised the warmth of true love and smiled that love has no other definition but only love… she was not longing for the first one as she knew he was never belongs to her…and very first place she never expected anything in return for her love from him…. 🙂
First love is unforgettable and love the end of story that she discover true love for her
Thanks So much Bushra
Love stays… the feelings stay..all because the heart knows too well even if the mind has gotten over it all.
Cute tale, Nidhi. Loved it!
Thanks so much Shilpa
So, what is going to happen when and if Abhishek calls back? She kind of left him hanging, didn’t she? Especially with a husband who loves her, she never should have led someone out of her life for 24 years do this – see, now you have me excited, meaning that your story worked. Well done!
That i still have to find out…. what Abhishek will say to her after reading this story… 😉
Wow, now am curious to know what transpired in the call between Abhishek and Aanisha. Will Dev come to know about this? How will he react? These questions beg a follow-up post 🙂
surely, Sreedeep. Though it was a closure from Aanisha’s end as she knew from very first day that Abhishek does not belong to her. But I will right one more follow up, let the call come… 😉
Great! 🙂
Ahh yes. First love is always special. But not necessarily the one that lasts. 🙂
It is indeed Dashy
Nicely done with the story…while we think we can only fall in love with one person, if we are open and vulnerable enough, we will find love again.
Nicely done with the story! While we think we may only fall in love once and with one person, if we are open enough and vulnerable enough, we are likely to find love again.
Love can happen many times but true love will happen once.
Wow no other ending wud be better for this one. Very nice. One question was she dreaming or she actually was supposed to have a call the other day?
It was all real… she was not dreaming
Ok. Loved the ending. Some stories are best left in silence
I agree
