Song of a new Journey… #writebravely #writetribeproblogger #8-Oct27Turnonyourfavradiostation #FridayReflections

Boss screamed at Namik “You are good for nothing. I don’t know why on earth I hired you at first place.” Namik wanted to scream back at him but something stopped him to do so. Since Namik has joined this company, he becomes a laughing stalk because of his boss’s behavior towards him. He is a US graduate and this qualification is now his biggest enemy. His boss never leaves a moment to humiliate him in front of rest of the staff.

Namik wanted to leave this job badly but his dad wanted him to continue this job as its a very well paying job. According to his dad, these are petty issues, which will surpass with time. But with every passing moment, Namik is feeling suffocated. He wanted to run away from his job and home, both. Namik is becoming a volcano that can erupt anytime and will engulf everything whatever comes on his way.

That day volcano erupted, Namik punched his boss on his face and left the office in his car. He doesn’t want to go home either. He was driving aimlessly on the roads. He doesn’t know how long he drove that day, he finally stopped his car and saw a beautiful and serene lake in front of eyes. He parked his car and sat on the lakeside. For the first time, he was feeling calm and controlled from inside, he was thoughtless and relaxed. He heard someone humming a song, he knew this song but cannot recall it. He took out his phone and switched it on. He ignored all notifications of 50 missed calls and messages. He frantically started to recall that song. He opened his youtube application and tried all possible words he can think of in the search bar.

“Mann Ka Radio Bajane De Jara
Gum Ko Bhulkar Ji Le Tu Jara
Station Koyi Naya Tune Kar Le Jara
Full To Attitude De De Tu Jara
Tuta Dil Kya Huwa Ho Gaya Jo Huwa
Bhule Bisare Geet Gaa Ke Bhul Ja
Badala Jo Rythm Usape Jhul Ja
Full To Attitude De De Tu Jara”

As the song started playing, he saw the first ray of sunlight was kissing the water of the lake. He took out his laptop, open two blank pages. One page titled “Resignation Letter” and another one “Extraordinaire Pvt. Ltd., Managing Director- Namik”.

Too many people stay in situations of humiliation or other job situations which have no good resolution. Assaulting his boss was a resignation letter – in my country it would be difficult for him to get any other position if the new employer checked references. So planning his own business is really his best, and perhaps, only option. And, hoping he has learned a lesson from this experience.

I do not agree with you Alana…. In USA, people do check references but they also check personal back grounds… I have worked in your country… and its not about the country, Its about humiliation, one suffers, it in any relationship…. parents-child, husband-wife, or boss-employee… one needs to take action, when required. It was not the only option left for him, it was the option he thought off…

Glad he found the courage to chart his own life. Not everyone can do that. Scores of people spend entire lives stuck at jobs they hate with terrible bosses.

There is no point in hanging on to something where yoo are not respected. I think in this story, Namik’s father is also a culprit as he didn’t want his son to leave the job which wasn’tbringing him any joy. Mental humiliation and physical assault both are equally condemnable. But at least that gave him the courage to take matters into his hand. So all good. 😀
